What is Natural Wine?
‘low intervention’ wine, ‘naked’ wine or ‘raw’ wine - whatever you call it we admire the philosophy of these wine producers.
Working in a more traditional and natural way, caring more deeply for their land and the small details of the wine making process such as hand picking their grapes. Less sulfites, and in some cases no sulfites are used in the wine making and bottling process.
What we get are wines with character and vibrancy, wines that have life.
Where to drink and buy Natural Wine in Berlin?
At Sorrel we have been involved in the Natural wine industry for years - since the Michelberger hotel threw their fabulous natural wine festival in 2015 through to running small events throughout the years.
At sorrel we are part Natural wine bar and part restaurant and serve a list of natural wines by the glass or bottle throughout the day.

This wonderful restaurant in Kreuzberg set in an old pharmacy offers one of the finest wine lists in Berlin. A special feature here is the section of wines from volcanic terroir such as mt. Etna in Sicily.

This newcomer, a few minute walk from Sorrel, is a welcomed addition to the neighbourhood and a wonderful casual place to enjoy a few glasses. A great selection of natural wines all of which are no-sulphites added from many cult winemakers, as well as some lesser known and up and coming producers. Our recommendation for after your dinner at Sorrel due to its great atmosphere, tunes and later opening hours.

Rocket owner Jeff has been one of the city’s most influential figures in popularising natural wine - he also organises Berlin’s natural wine fair ‘Wine Rush’. His shop is filled with amazing wines from cult wine producers as well as some hidden gems.

More Natural Wine started out as the biggest curated online store of Natural Wine in Europe, and now has a physical shop in Berlin where you can find some of their favourite wines and have a chat with the passionate team about all things natural wine. It’s possible to drink the wines onsite with a corkage fee and if you ask the team nicely they may also have some gems open by the glass.
